Hua Tuo Hua Tuo (141-208), the greatest doctor of ancient China. A number of the great achievements is connected with his name. One of the first he carried out surgical operations; he used narcotic broths for anesthesia; applied fixing of the injured organs at crises. Under the legend, he suggested Cao Cao to trepan a skull for his treatment, however the usurper has suspected an attempt on his life and has enjoined to execute the doctor. The names of several books written by Hua Tuo are known, but almost all of them have been burnt. Only the manual on veterinary science «Nu Ìà Zing» has been saved. Besides Hua Tuo applied gymnastics widely together with various medical methods. He wrote: "Movement helps digestion, good movement of blood and warns diseases". Hua Tuo is the founder of the well-known gymnastics of «Exercises of the Five Animals». Now using of systems of the improvement based on physical exercises takes a significant part of medical practice of China.
